SUPERSTAR Robbie Williams brought the Tirolean ski resort of Ischgl to a sensational close at the beginning of May with a mountain-top concert at 2,300m.
His open-air performance got 25,000 fans singing and dancing in the snow with songs from his Swings Both Ways album, interspersed with top crowd pleasers such as Let Me Entertain You and Angels.
Robbie was in celebratory mood as he shared the good news with the crowd that his wife Ayda is expecting their second child.
He joins the Ischgl Who’s Who of international musicians to have performed at the legendary opening and closing ski season concerts, which mark the resort’s impressive five month long snowsure winter. Recent acts include Elton John, Kylie Minogue, Deep Purple, The Killers, Mariah Carey and Alicia Keys.
Ischgl and its sister resorts of Galtür, Kappl and See in the Paznaun valley open for the summer season at the beginning of July with a range of summer mountain sports including mountain biking, hiking, bouldering, paragliding, horse riding, fishing, tennis, climbing and motorcycling – which all come with the reward of superb cuisine in the area’s mountain lodges and village hotels.
